RESIDENCY LAKE RESORT, MULSHI

Located on the Mulshi Road, this 12 room resort offers a quiet stay for a day or two. From the rooms you can see the Mulshi lake but the lake is located on the other side of the road whereas the Resort is located on a higher plane with a clear view of the lake.

One thing I observed is that senior citizens would have difficulty in climbing the number of stairs to enter the cottages. There are four cottages with 3 rooms each offering an aerial view of the lake. They have provided two cane swings at the entrance of each cottage and also a sit out with table and chairs in the lawn. Despite the onset of Covid, the place is kept clean and neat.

Mulshi is 40 kms away from Pune. You can drive your car, or hire a cab or take the bus.

Mulshi is about 170 kms from Mumbai. You can drive your car, or hire a transport or travel by bus.

The resort provides 3 individual rooms in a cottage. There are 3 cottages providing a view of the lake.

If travelling with a larger family or group, you can book the entire cottage of 3 rooms at the cost of three times that of single room.

The room I stayed, the glass door of the bathroom was not closing properly and the water tap was broken.

The resort has a swimming pool behind the Reception requiring the inmates to walk down the steps and a distance to reach the pool. The Pool has swings next to it for relaxation. They have indoor games like carrom, pool, table tennis and a big fixed chess board. The ground area next to the restaurant and childrens’ play area in the ground are an added attraction for children.

They also have a Spa which was not active when we visited. There is a lawn called “Queens Lawn” where I could see goalpost for football. The resort also provides cricket kit for outdoor sports. The Car Park is right in front of the Reception area. I was a little surprised to see a lady sitting on a table with computer at the entrance of the restaurant, and that was the Reception desk.

The resort offers paid services like barbeque, picnics, bonfire, nature walk, plantation walk, Night Trails, Movie nights, DJ nights, Yoga/meditation, village visit, bird-watching, cycling and evening entertainment. I have not tried any. Please check in advance with the resort for these services.

About 800 yards from the Resort, there is a road side restaurant called “Mulshi Lake Restaurant” which offers excellent opportunity to witness and capture sunset. In fact the restaurant calls itself “Sunset Point”.

The best moment for me was to witness and capture the sunrise through the mountains. If you are an early riser, you may get to see this.

The resort has an inhouse restaurant offering delicious food. About 100 meters from the Resort towards Pune is the Basho Restaurant and further ahead is Disha’s Dhaba. There is also Hotel Shivsagar near Disha’s Dhaba.
